JULIA Aphane is a self-taught, motivated and hugely gifted woman from Limpopo, whose talents are the talk of the town.

She is a manager in the premier's office and is responsible for women's issues. She also finds time to write, a passion which she developed whilewhen growing up in the province.

The 46-year-old mother of three children is the author of 10 books in Sepedi. These include a play, an anthology of poetry, a novel, short stories and folk tales.

The hardworking Aphane is also a songwriter and a motivational speaker.
